Ice Age (4): Continental Drift

Ghost Rider (2): Spirit of Vengeance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebCawfEnSWU

Snow White and the Huntsman

The Expendables 2 (have a look at the cast!)

I didn't check comedies yet, but I know there's The Dictator with Sacha Baron Cohen

Later in the future year(s) such massive anticipated movies as "300: Battle of Artemisia", "Terminator 5" are expected to come.

Movie makers are far too little creative when it comes to sequel naming. There's too many with "[original name] 2". They should think a little when assigning names...

anyways, got one movie to add without looking up any...

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
There's no trailer released yet, so we can't link that.

It's me being lazy to name it and I name it "2" instead :P

______

I would argue that the most anticipated movie of the whole 2012 year is "The Dark Knight Rises". It's with almost no doubts going to gross over a billion $ worldwide. Even though Ice Age 4 and probably Battleship are going to be great competition.

Because it's popular.
Hollywood used to be obsessed with Peplums in the past, as well as Westerns.

Sign of the awakening? Uh of what? Oh no, please, not again this December 2012 nonsense...

Hollywood goes the phases. In times of conflict, we have Comic Book/Hero movies. When the economy goes in the toilet, we have fantasy films involving werewolves, vampires, etc.

I'm waiting for the new Underworld: Awakening movie to come out Jan. 20th. Also, The Hunger Games, which will come out around my birthday.

There is also a small desire to see the Hollywood version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...but I'm worried about it being worse than the Swedish film (which was exquisite).

well hallywooders aint dumbs guys there must be a plan :) , we saw two movies with perseus the human who joined the gods , clash of the titans and Imortals and for 2012 there are wrath of the titans and prometheus.

would they make 4 movies wit same theme , that would ruin the business

There are 2 Snow White films set to come out next year. One is action/drama, the other action/comedy. I think you hold the intellect of the people in Hollywood in too high of regard.

Also, Immortals is about Theseus, not Perseus. But the films are similar.

Hollywood just needs more/better writers.

As I said Hollywood used to be obsessed with Peplums and Westerns in the 50's and 60's, so there was a plan too? :smt105

Movie industry also produced a lot of movies related to Scifi, UFOs in the 50's, but also in the 80's and 90's.
There is nothing really, and anyway as they said in X-Files, aliens already visited us many times and that dates back to ages ago when they came first.
If there was a plan, it wouldn't be spread in Hollywood industry with all these scifi/ancient series/movies, it would be secret...
