The Dark Knight - Batman poll

I am curious how many of you have seen this movie, in cinemas, or in rent/buy DVD/Blu-ray/digital legal download.
Personally, I have seen it in cinemas, and then bought the Collector edition in DVD. I'm considering acquiring the Blu-ray as well.
I didn't add the option " I have seen it in cinemas/theaters and bought it/rented it afterwards" as the poll is mainly about whether you saw it or not.

I'm asking considering all the hype surrounding this movie and the likeliness of a big amount concerned in these forums regarding whether they did see it in cinemas.

I saw it in the cinema, and this was like months ago!

I will also be seeing The Dark Knight Rises in the cinema too.

Not bad for a comic / super hero type film, but not really my chosen genre, and certainly not something I would pay to watch in a cinema.

One of these days you and I are going to mass the living hell out of each other over movie disagreements :P

I watched it in theatres, then bought the blu ray version.

lolz, I only posted to wind people up, Yanks & Canadians seem obsessed with comics & making them into films, never understood it myself, in the UK we have great comics like the Beano & Dandy for the kids and Viz for the teens, but when we grow up we pass them on to the next generation, we dont collect them and try to make out they are 'graphic novels' with deep hidden meanings ( what a joke that this, read a real book lol ), and we certainly dont ruin them by giving them to Hollywood :smt043

I disagree that Nolan's Batman movies were ruining the comics...

I'm not sure about UK comics, but American comics were not intended for children in the beginning. They were originally written for adults and had adult themes and jokes. Kids got into them because it was a book they could read that had pictures instead of page upon page of words with nothing to help them visualize the actions in the narrative.

We stole it all from Japan. Another country which created manga originally for adults.

I wrote a very long history paper on the subject in college. Essentially, comics began as war propaganda. Thus, the superheros were born.

As to the films. I rented them or watched them on Netflix; I forget which.

Saw it in the cinema three times then bought the special edition dvd 8-[

I know that this series of movies is a far cry from the bright and colourful batman comics but it really is an entertaining series of movies. Heath Ledger's Joker has got to be one of my favourite bad guys of all time just because his antics were spot on with the character of 'incredibly screwed in the head'.

I think the film got a boost in watches with the death of Ledger but then if you look back to all the previous Batman films that have been made no actor has walked away from the role of the Joker without being seriously affected by it. Heath Ledger went on to do another dark and gritty film after and that may have pushed him over the edge where previous actors did something light or took a break because of the stress of the role.

Also flipping a truck for a scene = win every day

We saw it. Once. Decent enough, but not our favorite. We don't have a TV, let alone a bluray player. We did not see it in a cinema, as we're not interested enough in batman to do that.
