Recruitment sections - forum structure

Hi!
I'd like to propose moving the Recruitment forums out of Misc to a more fitting place (game related => General).
Recruitment is an important part of the game, it's the lifeblood of alliances, crews and the system of commanders/officers. It can't be that such an important forum is tucked away all the way down in Misc! One's got to browse 34 sections down! So I'm proposing to move it to StarGateWars General (right next to Alliance Announcements). At the same time, I propose moving Conventions, meetups to Misc.
What's prompted this suggestion? Simple, the misposting by some people and the general fatigue of scrolling to a random-filled section to find something game-related.
I'm hoping to read your reply soon. Thanks!

Yes, less work for me
But in all seriousness thats overloading General mods as their section is already the biggest on the forum

Thought you'd like that, haha.

You're right. Your point is not very rational, but the comment about it being the biggest section is right. Thought of that too. In addition to moving Recruitment to General and Conventions to Misc, all Forum-related sections (Oms/FSI+subs/Public Dump/) could be split to the responsibility of the Administration directly. That'd reduce the load on General. It isn't really game-related anyway.
New to the Forum and Newbie/FAQ could be merged. The Fall Elections can be moved to Archives.
The forum is organic. It's historically grown into a wild garden. If I'd be able to help, I'd be very happy to. Order to chaos.

I'm fine with it, and agree that it should probably going in General.

There is an alternative solution for you that will not change workload.
We can, with a quick operation, make it accessible from general as well as from misc. Not moving it, but adding a link in general to the actual location down in misc.
oh, and that ombudsman election section is gone as of many hours ago.

Don't be stupid.
It makes sense to move it to General because General is about GateWars type things, where as Misc is miscellaneous and only two bits in Misc are GateWars related, the rest is spam and off-topic things. It's never made sense why something GateWars related was placed in Misc. However, if it is moved I don't see the need for moving Mods with it, i'm sure Haz can cope in General with it....

Except Recruitment hasn't needed to be modded in ages.
I see no problem or real changes that would arise if it were to be relocated.

If it was seen as overloading the General Mods, which i don't think it would, there are other options to reduce General abit to accommodate the Recr stuff. For example, the public dump could be moved to the same location as the private dump but still visible (i know mods don't mod it but it would make the size of General smaller. And sections such as StarGateWars IRC and TeamSpeak Discussion, and the Forum issues, suggestions, bugs etc could both move to For Admin. I know For Admin is mainly GateWars ingame related stuff, but For Admin could be classed as Forum and Game Admins etc.
Just a thought. i'm not botherted either way.

Sure, the forum could use a revamp. I was simply commenting on this particular switch.

Don't get me wrong, I'm overjoyed you'd quote my idea, and For Admin might be a good section, but isn't there the issue of people confusing forum and game admins enough as it is? Especially with the influx of newbies that'll come with admins advertising for Newgrounds, haha.
Good to see you're taking this idea seriously. Thanks! If I can help with anything, you'll know where I'm at.

I actually think it would add a minimal amount of work on the part of the General mods to help keep it modded. It would even help stop/remove the various posts in Alliance Announcements which include recruiting (prompting us to move them to Recruiting). I would be willing to volunteer to help mod that section to see if any other sections would need changing to accommodate the Recruiting Section.
(I just woke up, I hope I'm making sense here >.<)

Good idea by a stupid person. Even though Haz does (as usual) not make any sense at all.. it is a good idea. As evidenced by Clarkey coming up with the exact same idea.

Sorry Phillys.

Sorry Phillys.

I wasn't giving an idea, I was continuing on Clarkeys idea, volunteering to help if it were implemented. No need to call anyone stupid.
