Ouch! Hope it didn't cause too much trouble. I remember me and my dad washing a phones with that method...

although i had my debit card and £100 worth of like cards for like hmv and game haha

Attach the wallet to a belt loop using a heavy metal hook (and a line between hook and wallet). That way you wont forget to remove it. If you do, the noise will be considerable.
An added bonus is that you wont loose it. It might fall out of pocket, but it wont fall far.

Just use that as an excuse to your mum that you shouldn't do the washing anymore.

Yeah I did that twice. Plus I did the same thing to one of my ipods. But it still works.

so long as the water you dunk it in is 100% pure H₂O, it wont affect the piece tech in any way. unfortunately, its rare to have such pure water outside labs and such.
