my comand star SHOULD almost double my defence.... but it dosent, any idea why?

I was under impression command star had no function since raiding planets was removed

ANIMAL MOTHER, did it change recently ?
Or did you expect you command star to make an impression when someone farmed you ?

it dosent add on AT ALL to strike or defence?
if it dont add on, why are shields sometimes destroyed?

i think of it more as a stattomether, the more you build the higher your rank
it adds something i believe, just not much
and like with the motherships, one ships ship shoots the other guys shield, as so with the motherships

gold mask, personally commanding boo ya grand ma, their Personal Command Star initiates the battle.
ShadowFalcon was was commanding my Star, thier Personal Command Star.
boo ya grand ma and my Star meet head on at the border of Falcons!
boo ya grand ma uses its Black Hole String to inflict 2,251,344,223,430,000 damage, destroying 0 Enegry Vortex Shields on my Star!
Blowing through the defenses, it also destroyed 0 Black Hole String Weapons!
gold mask's boo ya grand ma infuses 322,681,760,500,000 additional attack power to the fleets that follow!
my Star uses its Black Hole String to inflict 2,394,000,000 damage, destroying 0 Enegry Vortex Shields on boo ya grand ma!
it looks to me asif only the strike weps are used...
also i dont get why my ms does only a fraction of the damage it should
