As in like a superweapon type of deal, or more of another function like attack or sab?
It could be fueled off GnR i suppose
Interesting idea though, sounds reasonable, it will really depend on what if effects though and its frequency of use. So long as it can't be directly fueled by $$, like turns or naq as well.

I like the idea...but i have a question to throw a twist...first a statement..
When Daniel Jackson ascended he was not in his " unascended form" right? Although he could appear as such...
How can we make the cause of one effect the other in the truest sense ( for lack of a better word) whereas they are 2different yet are one?

I support the idea. Though I also haven't any solid idea about what it would do at this point.
In relation to JT's post, you could say that, since the ascended realm affects the main realm over 50% of the time, you could force an ascended assist, and then target the being doing the assisting in some form of anti-energy type thing, like Merlin's device did.

the idea is to make it usable to any account.
I like Sol's idea of using GnR. Something anyone can get, and something that can't be bought directly with resources or money.
nope, unknowns pretty much gather GNR for fun, where as below unknowns they generally need it for ascending ... during the time span of ascending to your final stage, you would be in the dilemma of either ascending, or trying to retalliate/use that weapon
As for an effect, how about once you have it runnign it works as a defensive item
example: when you have it running, and someone performs an ascended attack on you, they loose a load of planets on ascended during their attack

And that in itself adds a bit of tactic to the game, you would have to decided between attacking someone or ascending.
Not everyone goes to unknown, while the majority do, that is their decision.
This could make having loads of GnR useful, which could potentially also add more tactics as you might not see nox so frequently used on a constant basis.
I would guess, that after some initial trying, the majority (at least those ascending) will leave it be till they are unknown. (actually, making an unknown account even more desirable, thus stimulating account sales)
From the get go, the unknown users in top ranks, (5gnr) will be playing with it the most

Totally true.
Still I'd prefer a way for it to 'fuel' such a thing, where the terms and ability for its use is the same for all.

hmmm i like the base idea.
My ideas:
- 3 full MTs to aquire it
- 4,000 AT to use it
- Destroys 2% of planets and/or weapons on ascended
- ascended account cannot attack for 24h
- can only use it once per month
- must have a war/war relationship with the victim.
just my thoughts though, no need to go spreading them around.

Problem with the G&R spending idea, only the top 2000 account can use it. Since they are the only ones accumulating G&R of any kind. Whilst this would stimulate more rank fights, it would essentially prevent those under that rank from using it.
I like the ideas of MTs or untrained mercs, since MTs are universally accessible (once you ascend once I guess) and whilst there'd be a scramble for the untrained mercs at the start of each turn, in theory, everyone would have a chance at getting some anyway?

just make it a combo,
3 MT's + 10 mill untrained mercs
or
3 mts + 2k gnr
if a user has both forced them to user GnR
You should probably be more worried about the effects of it.

-reduces mnec temporarily, thereby reducing toc and recoveries....
-destroys 50% of someones reserves...
Perhaps it could be optional to what function it does?

Random thought as for an option: A descension backfire option.
#A does ascended attack on #B, #B notices it, #B activates his ascended weapon and waits (3MTs 500 GNR and 25 million untrained mercs) .
On the next ascended attack by #A on #B, the attack backfires.
#A now only has 1 lifeforce left for 3 hours, and can only refilled after three hours (after the battle).
After the three hours, #A quickly needs to refill before #B or any other player does an ascended attack on #A, which if #A did not refill, would be an instantatinous descension of #A.
The weapon should only be able to work once and remain active for 48 hours.

haha, I meant once a week seeing the use of the market turns

i would say this idea would be more favourable by most as it gives some versatility, the numbers would just need to be worked out so that it doesn't become too powerful

perhaps;
destroy 50% of everything
destroy 90% of 1 single type
remove lf reserves and cache
or something similar to that.....
