Idea

just like covert levels you buy bribe and anti bribe levels

in a nut shell, you can bribe defense, attack, coverts or even mothership pilots, you have to spend XX naq to bribe XX personel , not too cheap of course and it may even be linked to ascended levels.

Maybe not linked to ascended levels so that even the small guy has a chance to hit the big accounts.

could be like ms techs, 1 to 10

abandon their post, to join your army, to turn into miners, to kill each other anything that would mean that the overall power either decreases or in the case the ms, it goes away for xx time

the idea to to decrease what ever power you want decreased, make it easier for you to attack, stop you being attacked, to help you sab or spy or stop you being AC'd, stop your ms being destroyed or make it so your apponant cant use their ms as supporting attack power to ground troops

use your imagination, what do you think it can be used by

Mods, please delete any non related postings, as I bring this idea up for worthwhile discusion

bribe them to defect to your army.
I like it.

I'd say they should stay as whatever unit they are when you snatch em up.
And it should be random as to what you get.

Yep like when you use mt's to make a planet, you just don't know what you will get, or like in cash market, you have to pay extra for specific items

Yeah, just buy your enemy. That is going to work.

There should be limitations on how many times it can be done to one account within a certain timeframe. We wouldn't want people ganging up on one account and bribing their whole army.

well yes, could be like having nox levels only xx attacks possible, then rather than being phased out you just can't have bribe action again

maybe even the briber can only do so many bribes like ascended where you try to decend someone, only xx times per hour and yes obviously you wont be able to bribe a whole force maybe go by a % of a whole

ie

you can only bribe 100b force for every 1t force 10% or that may also be something to do with levels, level 1 bribe will give you say 2% level 10 bribe will get you like 20%

:-k I remember seeing something like this recently ingame although it was more like...buy out your enemy.
expanding on that anyway...
Anything that involves naq to fuel its function is doomed from the start (unless ofc it's limited so that weaker players are balanced out to the larger ones (or at least closer)). Make a resource that can't be bought from people, or the Black market, and you have a viable idea

Linked to AS Sol?

Sure, more experienced players can reduce army size to take advantage, but there major disadvantages to that also. Maybe not?

There's loads of other ideas, like a MT, only one allowed a week. That can't be bought or anything and it's not advantageous to either the strong or weak.

Reminds me of Civ2, as soon as I got Espionage tech I would bribe enemy units and fight the enemy with their own men.

I like the idea, but think it should only apply to Mercs since they fight for money, Guards and Supers fight for their god, not easy to turn a fanatic.

I would say this should have a Naq cost for the Bribe, use Covert turns and require a Covert strength / loss similar to sabbing to deliver the bribe but at a lower %, and some mercs be lost while changing side.

For example

Naq 5x normal merc price

Covert turns, 5 per bribe

Covert power sent to deliver the bribe must be higher than enemy covert power and take say 1% or 2% loss

Min 10% mercs and Max 5 mill mercs bribed per mission

Only 75% of mercs bribed transfer, the rest run off or get caught trying to leave and killed
