I admit that not only the SG1 team had its importance, but also the leader taking the decisions.
Hammond, of course. If the SGC ever had a face, it was his.

we noticed his death in the movie "wyvern", which was in fact dedicated to him. (he had a good role in it but died before its release)
So its obviously Hammond. But O'Neill is a good second.

he died after sg1 finished I think.

I remember watching a little scene where they talk about how the general died..

He passed away during the show, but O'Neill was General then.. I believe.
