well, I'm not sure about the english definition for Schnaps, as in german Schnaps is a summarising word for all sorts of alcoholic drinks with at least 35% of ethanol.
Anyway, I prefere wodka-based longdrinks (except for wodka + coke), cuba libre (tastes very good & is the easiest "cocktail" to mix) and scotch. oh and "Grüne Wiese" (50:50 mix of blue curaçao and orange juice) is also very nice, especially at summer

I like cuba libre, except for the anti-revolutionary connotation of the drink. Che ftw.
