Not getting excited, I doubt it is going to be a series or movie. Just some lame app and maybe a comic?

As much as I'd love for any of the rumors to be true, I'm afraid Clarkey is most likely right.

I'd love to see Stargate return on the screen in any form though.

They should make a season 3 of SGU...even if it's small in size (9 eps or something)

How did we get to SG-1 tv series returning? What has been said to even suggest that? Everything I have read points to it being some sort of game or app.

prob they r thinking of some sort of social strategy game so they can earn some good $$$.

still that was interesting those times , 10 years ago, now ppl want more into the reality of aliens.

That does kind of point towards it being an app, then.

But is the app the great news, or is there more? Surely an app is not all that special, unless it provides webisodes..

Firstly yes SG-1 tv series is returning, just not as a tv series. You see, the tv series is SG-1 so whatever format it returns in then the tv series is returning, dont be narrowed minded to think that when someone says tv series they mean the words they say.

So lets forget about Atlantis, SGU and anything new because unless Darren Thomas mistakenly referred to the franchise as SG-1 instead of Stargate then we can safely say it is the SG-1 tv series we are talking about.

Yes there is an app, but that is for the lead up to the big announcement, so it will be an app and something else, although can't remember where that was mentioned.

They've failed miserably twice trying to develop a game, but hey they can flog a dead horse if they want.

If it involves the original cast directly then Chris Judge will no doubt leak info before July. However Michael Shanks has said he's not be approached yet.

It will all be disappointing at best.

The games failed because they never came out. This suggests management issues rather than market issues. A Stargate RPG properly designed would do pretty well I think.

An MMO would be nice if done right, but MMOs are pretty much guaranteed to fail. I think a better idea would be a F2P mini MMO.

The FPS that actually came out failed because it was just parts of the MMO cut out and reused as an FPS. Oh and because development of the MMO bankrupted Cheyenne Mountain.

I want to see an FPS RPG with MMO elements. Something like Fable 3, but with the MP elements more fleshed out.

I think a game in the design of Deus Ex or even Skyrim would make it a hit. But that would mean they actually need to work on it so...
