They've been around for a while

Triple Planets
These are now available - one per account only - also on official black market. (starting Mar 2nd, 2012)
Please note that a triple can be taken over ONCE and maintain the triple stats. If it is taken over a 2nd time it loses its 3rd stat.
There is no way to know beforehand how many times it has been stolen.

It would make sense to encourage people to spend money on the game as a lot of free online games do have pay for content that is better than the regular stuff available on the game.

Only having 1 is probably because in this game whatever you have that gives you a slight advantage is enough to allow you to dominate a lot of smaller players which discourages them to continue playing.

I don't know why it should lose it's third stat when taken though but that probably falls under the segregation of players on the game in the "Only if you give money do you deserve shiny things" mentality.

But from looking at the available triple planets on the market they don't have huge value although an attack, defence and covert planet is probably a big advantage. Be thankful that there isn't an attack, covert and unit production triple planet available because it would probably be the only planet ever bought on the market.
