"Sell off"

the ability to "Sell off" some of your planets when you want too, there would be a maximum of say 20% of your size per 48hours you could sell off.
Would be good cause when your asc gets a lot of planets on it you start to struggle to hit all your farm list because they are not growing as fast so you have to keep adding where it would be easier to just get rid of some of your army.
Not sure how much 1 planet would sell for. Maybe 5M DMU?
I would probably lower the amount you get to 2 or 3M per 1 planet as 5M DMU is
10,000,000,000,000,000 (10 quad) If you sold off 20% of a 10B planet size.
Just as CER does maybe the option to sell off planets could work on the amount you get as a % to your size?

I would be against letting that happen, pretty much summed up by guild.
I mean I could offer it for free, i dont mind that, or even to perhaps use them on a direct suicide mission like lifers.

How about, instead of selling of, ... add 2 conversions
* planets -> life force
* planets -> DMU

There is. Just hit Guild once. *grin*
One could argue that blindly building CER is cutting your own margin.

I.e. massive CER accounts are just .. badly built.

As for conversions,
totally against it. One would simply become self-sustaining with a massive CER.

Wouldn't that kinda depend on the conversion rate ?
You make it sound like you'll hit the jackpot every time you would convert away one planet.
Thinking up a better approach in stead of mentioning a worst case scenario, gets you a lot further ...
I was thinking of a more smallish approach .. for small players good enough to be worth something, for big players an easy way out of too many planets.

No, because there is no need for this function at all. Just train intelligence, untrain assassins and let someone take you down a peg. Wanting something in return for what is basically a mistake in account building is just .. uncool.
Now, Sol generously offered to allow a free 'kill off', but people just keep wanting things they did nothing for. (Unless you are proposing a conversion rate that would cost people, Duckie?)

And let someone take you down a peg ? what kind of dumb ass approach is that in comparison to what I suggested ?
Isn't a surplus in resources, a surplus in resources ? so worth something ? (assuming I can say planets are resources)
People invested for it, its extra.
But, a cool suicide button sounds more logical by your reasoning I suppose

If you truly have too many planets, Sol offers to kill them. The idiocy of some people in building their accounts lopsided should not be rewarded. Obviously. But hey, keep begging for moar moar moar free stuff!

That is not free stuff Cersei, it takes time and dmu investment to get those planets.
Not to mention that they need to have destroyable planets in the first place.
And, your arguments are pretty unfounded to say the least.
When you are big, the huge cer is annoying, but during a war, you'll love it

nah im with juliette on this, its there own fault for being short sighted and just putting naq into CER blindly, and lets face it this isnt a serious problem , you can kill your planets of easy enough , this is just a way for people with large CER's to just sell planets for easy DMU and sit there and do it again when your next big enough. so effectively do less work

Perhaps it has to do with the nature of ascended, and many players not logging in that often.
I would imagine them supporting the suggested proposal. Seeing as they would indeed have more need then, for instance, someone who farms with a large strike often, and has lots trained.
Perhaps, a solution can be found in another approach.
Planets for turns ?
