I was buying slots for mothership defence and then this happened:

If you had a higher tech upgrade before ascending then that would be why.

It's not a bug, it's been around since MS techs were introduced, when they get destroyed you won't be able to buy back over your max capacity. If you are that bothered get someone to mass your MS.

How do you know it's not a bug? How do you know he was even ascending?

Well he didn't... he made a valid post on a possible known issue, and Old Spice replied as to say thats what happened?
If the issue is bugging you tht much, you can mass your MS down to start then next step would be to go to the Admin meet to discuss with admin, see if hes willing to provide a resolution to this issue.
