Do you need to be signed up and a member of the forums to see the Market and the Recruiters Canton?

To encourage forum usage?

My guess.

Probably to stop the scammers who have not even heard of this game,
but crawl the web with their bots, looking for paypal information, and ways to access it and such...

in a bid to request your money the next time you log in to paypal...

or to make up stuff on MSN...

It never was like that, it used to be open, but so many muppets like Da Vinci caused that to be changed I believe.

He mainly used the market, didn't care about rules, got himself perma-banned and now that he can't see market and his multi accounts keep getting caught he cries because he can't sell his goods because he can't see the market.

Q. Are ppl that have been blacklisted, scammed or multied etc banned from seeing the market section? If not why not?

In all fairness would be better if non of forum was viewable unless signed in

This has been said MANY times in the past, so please finally open your eyes. Scamming is NOT against game rules and therefore not against forum rules. The blacklisted section is for people to report evidence or suspicion of someone scamming and blacklisting them, however it's not an official blacklist, it is down to whether people bother to look at it.

Multi is against game rules but not punishable on the forum. If they are caught as a multi then their ingame accounts are banned and in most cases that makes their use of seeing the market obsolete anyway.

In all fairness? What fairness are you talking about? The fairness between those that respect and abide the forum rules and those that disrespect and break the forum rules? Or is there some other fairness on your mind?

Restricting all viewing access from unregistered / not signed in users will completely kill this forum.

It wasn't always like that. At some point in the past 7 years it changed I believe.

Freyr and Belos are old players names. I thought they were in a special group or something, but cant see profiles.

(only reason i know they are old players names, is i had a few run-ins with them both...)

They are, both bots actually.

Interesting, wondered why i could not click on their profiles. Any reason they are named after old players?

Well as SS said they are Stargate themed to keep the old game theme alive. I imagine if they share names with old players it's because old players chose there own names based on Stargate stuff.

we're not 100% sure, but we think we named a couple of them like that for just the same reason.

The link to old players is coincidental.
