Game Cop Rules of Engagement

1) Ban must be for only the time set by pushing the ban button (ie 24horus x times banned) -- cannot decide a longer ban by stringing bans together.
2) Account can have further punishment (by me) if warranted. Game Cop can bring it forward in particularily bad cases.
3) Evidence will be provided by game cop if requested (here in forums).
4) Game Cops are polite, if firm :)
5) Game Cop can ban without any further approval needed than their own. Although group concensus is desireable, its not mandatory.
6) Game Cop bans are limited to feeding. All other rule breaking will be brought to attention of Support (as of Round 37 - previously Admin Jason).
7) If a Game Cop as player, is involved with a potential violator, another Game Cop should do the banning on said violator, to avoid personal bias. (ie cannot ban user while being massed...must get another Cop to agree and act.)
10) They MUST wear a cop hat, and carry a cop-stick, while pushing the ban button. All other clothing optional.

Thats it for now :)

Thanks for clarity J, much appreciated.

I now see this was just yet another cunning ploy to get me into that cop uniform. I've told you, if you'd asked me before middle age spread hit, it would have been a pleasure. No one needs to see my midriff or indeed my empire line....

Hey at least you have the right stick on the uniform, I thought some different stick was obligatory :(

Ok fair enough... but what if, a week before the end, someone gets fed a HUGE amount of naq or units...say 20 days worth of UP or 5k turns worth of naq... they get a 24 hour ban and get to keep everything?

I know I would happily take a 24 hour ban for that....

Exactly. And besides, it's not just if someone does that a week before the end, someone could be doing that entire era. One can easily get a 10 days advantage over others if the feeder has normal IQ, that means 10 days advantage in one feed. They could keep doing that 10 times straight and still profit. By banning them for one day you just slap them on the wrist and say "hey it's profitable, continue doing what you're doing, we'll take just a small bit of your advantage away so you can say you were always punished for your sins so you winning the era is totally legit".

To show fairness and transparancy I demand photo evidence of Cop Hat and Stick by COP members of staff including Jason who has a very big stick !!

I dont want any mistakes of using the feather duster for Known Friends and mates.

Ps yes I am joking LOL

Back on Topic have we had any bans of late ?

Hmm they way you said that makes me think that bans should be dated. :-k

It's in game as well, in the Galactic Attack Logs where you can also see the date of ban.

i will give at least one game cop a more direct contact method so that 'excessive' feeding/rule breaking can be given further investigation/penelty...by me.
this should balance things a bit...and make getting all you can out of cheating a losing proposition.

original post edited to include the following:

ok - my bad for not providing clarification.
The 'game cop' is a feeding force. Its not meant to determine if bug exploits, foul language, MS names, scripts, macros, or just looking too good, are bannable, and then to ban if so.
The gamecop is a feeding cop. For now. The rest can be brought to me personally.
