Not quite, I require assistance in finding the best parts in Japan for my Turbo Impreza (euro-model) and have them shipped to a specific location in Japan where my other half will transport it to Iceland. I can't read Japanese so these Japanese websites tell me nothing.
It also has to fit my Euro-Subaru. As Japanese and American models are quite different. So in a way it's mostly just translating for me, yes.

Google does translate Japanese.

But doesn't understand my specification for my ride - nor find me the right shops etc... I'd prefer someone who lives there could find me a store that could do it all for me.

Not just a translator: one with car knowledge and knowledge in where to find parts over there.
My best bet would be some impreza fanclub / website, which hopefully has a forum, and drop a request there.

Also, when looking for parts, I believe there are special pages/sites which sell that stuff online.
Seems a bit of a hassle what your attempting though. Nice and all the other half is there and wants to helps. But I'll bet you'll have a lot easier time finding some japanese site which has english translations of what you need. Then shipping it by ordering online.

advantages:
you dont have to wait for partner
partner will not play with goods
partner will not forget goods amoungst the estimated 25 suitecases
suitecase with goods will not get shipped to wrong airport

and finally ... if the parts dont fit you can likely return them with out a round trip having to go there yourself xD

But they don't have to, I'll give them all the info they need. They just have to send one email tops or make one phone call. Maybe even just translate.

You have to be very careful with these online shops from there though. Especially if they're offering something a lot cheaper than you find elsewhere. I found the exact same guitar model I ordered from Germany, as they don't have much choice of this particular brand in Slovenia, in a Japan online shop that was 50% cheaper. Luckily my gut feeling was telling me something was wrong, did some more background check and found out it was a fraud.
Granted there have to be some online shops that are a fraud in Europe, America and other continents as well, but the bulk of them, at least to my experience, is in Asia and a lot of the people think "well workforce is cheap there so that's why the cost is so low, better buy there" and lose their money.
