I was going to name this discussion simply "LOL" but thought better of it.

I don't think he's wasting our time. Better to post this here and us telling him the Huffingtonpost is garbage, fad psuedo-jurnalism rather than him reading it and considering it legit!

If there are no separate facilities, I would prefer men to be seated as well. The measure of control of most men is highly overrated. Especially since most men only go when they absolutely have to, i.e. after drinking beer, dulling their aim even more. No. Shared facilities? Sit down, or clean up your mess. Irresponsible swines.

I solved the issue in my house with a voice box. It says in a military PA voice: "In the name of the one true Vampire Authority in who's wisdom and justice all is made manifest by God, sit the **Filtered** down."
Scares everyone poopless. Which is good for other reasons.

sounds fair that they have to sit, and go to all the hassle of having to pull pants down to knees and getting a cold bottom

maybe if they had to face the possibility of sitting down on someone else's mis aim they might be inclined to improve own aim..

It baffles me how some people (wont mention any names CoughDubby comp gammergeek2cough) can just bash all sources instead of debating the issue at hand...

Is the Huffington post a piece of **Filtered**...YES, nobody is claiming otherwise! why did i list it, because as i mentioned in my OP, i heard it on the radio and thought it was someone's bad joke. so i ran a general search and found out it was true. after skimming really quickly over the site names in the top half of the search result (couldn't be arsed to ask you 1st which sources are OK with you before i posted the thread...sorry!) i found a name i recognised and posted it. but since then i have had a look and it is as HP reported. they have merely relayed the story, not made it up.....and seeing how ALL major mainstream news outlets (the rags, TV, the internet and so on) get their story's from only 2 sources....it makes a blind bit of difference which **Filtered** source i list!


As to the hygiene of some men who get so crap-faced they are lucky if they avoid urinating on themselves....i agree, it's absolutely disgusting and i NEVER use public facilities if it can be avoided.

But as to making me sit while urinating...if this takes off in Sweden and becomes law and then comes spreads to the UK, looks like i will be urinating on the ceiling in the mornings

Why is it such an issue to sit down(I oppose law for this, it's foolish and wouldn't prevent men from doing upstanding)? In public toilets I stand up because it wouldn't be clean to do so, and then I clean partially if I messed up myself. But at home, I don't stand up because when I go to toilets, it's usually red alert lol

I asked about the action to sit, not the suggested law asking people to do so (which is wrong as I said), which is different question.

No idea, personally, i only sit if i need a number 2...otherwise, my mum taught me from young to lift the seat and clean my mess before i flush...can't speak for anyone else, only myself.

Again personally, if a man needs to sit when urinating....all i can say to that is...may as well get a vagina. either that or join the loony leftist feminists with nothing better to do.

I do think that public shared toilets should have antibacterial wipes though, regardless how good a shot the men are you never know the state of the last butt that was on it lol

I disagree with you on the first comment,

as signage reminding people of the need to keep the restroom clean and to respect others is often quite sufficent... that and good maintanence people, procedures, and things like Mezz suggested:
wipes, plus toliet seat covers.

I do agree with you partially on the second comment, many people of all kinds are exceedingly messy.

I work in a grocery store chain, so I know a few things about public restrooms:

namely that having the prior user sitting down does not make for less mess,
indeed, it often makes for more mess...

...and where the germ count is exponentially higher.

I have to say tho... WTH? do we really want to imasculate our men? why not just say instead that all women should pee standing up? might be possible...with the use of some sort of scoop shaped funnel?

yes, messy aims are a pain, but perhaps the law should be that all establishments (none habitational) should provide seperate facilities for men and women? we can always hand the guys a bottle of bleach and a cloth and point sternly to the bathroom in our own homes after all.
