does your daily raid reset after you ascend ?
ie to raids one the day you ascend

No.
It does reset your 'cap' for the next day (obviously, as it takes your UP to decide your cap once a day). If you have a 10k UP, ascend (UP -> ~100), and then raid, I believe you could be able to raid 10k. Not entirely sure at this point; never tried it myself.

julliet you are correct if you have a 10k up and then ascend and then raid for that day you will still be able to raid for 10k

I could see that being a huge reason for 'big ascensions', i.e. build up a lot of UP and then ascend.

would only be worth it if you build the UP throughout the ascensions, as you need the naq to be able to get a good start at the beginning of the next ascensions continuous UP > one big raid hit
