Warring is expensive.

If you wish to crush somebody's defense, it's has a cost.

Yes, I like this answer. :)
More people = more guns = more misfires = more accidents = more casualties / fatalities.

How do you explain what happened when I attacked 2t def with 3t strike and lost 56mil attackers? (I had like 150mil trained and forgot to untrain :smt115 )

Many people pressed into attacking with not enough weapons will start fighting each other for the weapons, killing millions. :)

Whats easier to hit... A million troops storming at you on home turf... Or a couple of 100 thousand troops hiding in ambush as they know their surroundings...

Analogy that was used earlier sometime

Jason's explanation hits the spot... mind, it's the defenders' home turf. They know it well. Also, the attackers are the ones that are pressed to storm. Defenders can just lie in wait at strategic points.
Of course, the greater the difference in power the quicker your attacking force can wipe the defenders and thus slightly alter the losses ratio, but it still will be significantly more then the amount of losses a defender suffers.

Perhaps your army is comprised of Russians. One holds the gun, the other follows. When the man with the gun is shot, the other picks it up and starts firing. Deserters will be shot.

Perhaps AJ should add causes of deaths...just for funzies... like x died from friendly fire, y died from MS, z died directly from enemy fire etc.
