Suggestion: Trojan Horses

One light suggestion which should help with the bullying there's a lot of talk about on the forums.

In order to do this it would have to be is so that if someone sent something to you with SS, that you had a option of not accepting the gift and sending it back.

Then, we could add the option of sending "trojan horse" gifts. Such "gifts" would go into effect as soon as the receiver clicked the "I accept" button.

For instance, you could add the option of planting a bomb on the naquada you send someone, and if they accept this naq, it will "explode", causing damage to there weapons equal to (reciever's rank + 100) / (sender's rank + 100) times the amount of naq.

Disguised as UU, you should be able to send covert and anti-covert operatives, which upon accepted will either sab/kill covert based upon the usual calculations multiplied by (reciever's rank + 100) / (sender's rank + 100)

That way, if someone ranked WAY higher than you threatens "send me 1000 UU or I sab you", you have the option of sending him 1000 anti-covert agents and eliminating most of his covert forces.

I'd also say that if this is done, trojan horses shouldn't be allowed be sent to someone if the relationship is mutually peacefull.

I like the idea, but it would make black market trading a bit more perilous I know i wouldnt want to buy a 200k covert op sab from someone with my naq

I like the trojan horse idea, especially when I see people begging for UUs for some stupid asgard race fund only to spend them on buying himself SS. It would also discourage this one guy from constantly asking me for money. And bullying, but no one ever bullies me

@ the black market though... we can have a list similar to that for scammers, of people who routinely send booby trapped resources via the black market.

Though the mutual peace thing could help nullify the black market risk.

I think it's brilliant :D.

Chuck a poll into your post AtP (go up to it and click edit, then fill out the Poll options).

I'd vote yes :). Although, if you have higher spy than them (the person who sent you the "gift"), and it was an evil package, you'd probably kill their spies and get whatever they sent... Although if it was spies disguised as uu you'd have to kill them all...

Hmmm... Anyway, I like the concept.

I love it! An addition:

Only idiots would blindly accept explosives by the bundle from a potential enemy... Their covert agents would probably check it out and see if it has any problems with it. For instance: I know whoever suggested this had just watched the episode with the girl with the naquadah bomb in her. However, the team was able to prevent the explosion by research! Why not in the game?

If the sender's spy level is as high as the receiver's spy level, there are 40% odds of worst case senario, 40% odds they manage to prevent damage from the explosion/whatever, and 20% odds that they disarm the bomb (or maybe torture the spies into joining their lines, in the case of UU) therefore keeping the money/units.

If the sender's spy level is one or more above the receiver's, 55% odds worst case, 40% odds the threat is stopped, 5% odds the bomb is disarmed.

If the sender's spy level is one level below the recievers, 20% odds of the worst case scenario, 40% odds the cargo is sacrificed, 40% odds the cargo is kept alive.

If the sender's spy level is two or more below the receiver's, 5% odds worst case, 40% odds neutralizd, 55% odds the bomb is disarmed.

This way, noobs and trading-only profiles wouldn't be able to kill upper rank players simply because their UPD is high. Also, it makes scamming less fun. "150k uu for X naq!" he says, but you know he won't give it to you. Therefore, you send him the UU to instead sab him, and then take the money by force, having much less opposition.

I like! I like!
