MSN closing down by 2013?!

Is it true or just a rumor? I have read MSN would be closed down by Microsoft by early 2013.

If you log into Skype with your current msn address all your contacts and stuff will be there. So they are "switching."

So I take it we're all moving to Facebook Chat then, creating a group there now allows you to have that instant chat with the whole group, alternatively whatsapp or Steam.
My main IM is Google Talk because I'll let them have my soul for constant Android devices and Google products.
Honestly I don't really care about MSN closing down, the only reason I use it is because the majority of SGW uses it. If it shuts down they all move somewhere else and life goes on, I don't see the vast majority moving to Skype but then again I didn't see the majority of people switching from Myspace to Facebook so I'm not one to predict the future.
