Just curious who is considered the most powerful, whom all others bow too....
Who are the next few people?
Which powerful players have true vendettas against each other which may never come to terms?
What alliances are not to be trifled with in any way?

there are those of us, who have heard secrets about the power of an alliance so feared, i will probably get massed by them for telling you, urururur alliance is possibly the most ultimate alliance ever.

I spied a member of urururur before, they where merciful, they let me off as it was my birthday, but I will never be able to raid anyone again

No-one is the most powerful, except in their own minds. There is another thread about who has the top covert levels. They might be considered the most powerful with the current game dynamics. But any account can mass any other given the appropriate amount of resources.
Who are the next few people?
Anyone with $$, or alternatively those few who know how best to use an account without $$.

Even with the current system of it being hard to deal lasting damage to a player/account/alliance, it is never beneficial to carry out a never-ending war. So those who have true vendettas often leave each other be for the better good. There are a couple of people I will never come to term with, but it's not necessarily in mine or my alliances best interest for me to act upon it. Thus I think the real answer is no-one.
What alliances are not to be trifled with in any way?
I would advise leaving the same names as always alone. DDE, OE, mH, Ricos, TAF, TL can all have a big bite.

As norbe said the Cov 40 topic is a pretty good indicator but there are others who are quite capable of taking on anyone on that list.
