Ascension and PPT

Okay, so I remember reading everywhere that the effects of PPT are not cumulative. So in the case of ascension, does that mean I have to come off PPT for a set amount of time before ascending again, or does the timer reset to 48 hours on ascending in this particular case?
It would be hard to power ascend to level 20 if you were vulnerable every 2 days.

If you are not on PPT, then you ascend, you get 48 hours PPT.
If you are on PPT, then you ascend, your original PPT disappears and you get 48 hours PPT.
"the effects of PPT are not cumulative" simply means that if you have 10 hours PPT left and you ascend you DO NOT get 10+48 (58 hours PPT).. you only get 48 hours.
You do not have to be off PPT for a certain amount of time before ascending. You can ascend every 10 mins if you have enough higgs. (obviously that is an impossible exaggeration for the sake of an extreme example)

Ah ok... 24 not 48... I haven't stayed on PPT long enough to even notice!

Damn, so in order to power ascend without building any defense you have to ascend every day. That will be much more expensive.

I guess I should save up to about 100 tril then. Maybe I should just save to 1 quad and call it good.
