Doesn't seem to achieve anything

Yes, it looks as if there wasn't a single alliance out there

perhaps because they chose a closed or invite only alliance when forming it? (If those are even options)

Created an alliance with open option, see if you can see it?

Recreated with the "apply" option, can you have another look?

Then I will see if putting on closed takes it off the lists completely

Correct. The following list of alliances are not visible on the alliance page:

Forgotten Serenity

I'll try and look at the 2-3 current bugs this weekend, and will try and put a vote on the reducing damage also.

So, it seems that an alliance that has a negative alliance bank at the start of a week, has their appearance on the alliance recruitment page hidden until the next week. IMO, a bit harsh.

I'll move the code to check daily, and set all those alliances to show up again. Remember to pay your power bill though, or you'll get hidden again
