Figured the topic title would make you look quick, lulz.
(even though this has been around pre-your adminshipz.)


Just out of curriosity why do accounts show up full ??? in both planets and DMU when they have


Covert Capacity: 187,727,762,180,000


and I have

Covert Capacity 395,989,961,888,000

(thats just one example, point being why can't I see them on battlefield when I have double even triple their coverts at times?)

and I can fully spy all these ??? with the quick spy button.

I think you need 3x and 5x the covert in ascension to see all stats. Been like that forever.

Yet, if you spy the account you can see all that info anyways, so whats the point?

Quite simple.. This is to make you work for your DMU.
No freebie intelligence.. *grin* Would be a good thing to have in Main, imo, might just make recons worth it again.

2nd part, is fixed.
1st part, has been explained already. I can't tell you the true reasoning behind it though, but it occurs on main as well. It's just like that...(with a bit of crit mixed in with it).

1st part does not occur on main.. you can see peoples army size and NAQ with less covert power than them in main.

There are accounts I can't see planet size or DMU in the open with 5x less covert action than me, but if I spy I can see every stat including DMU in the open like an open book.

Uh.. no. It does not happen like that on Main. In Main it goes 1/5th and 1/3rd.

Ah.. that's right. It was the reciprocal...I remember talking to AJ about this.
Either way peeps I can't offer anymore insight into why it's like that, it isn't a bug though (or a long standing one), probably had something to do with the ease of shifting planets around and ability to greatly increase covert when needed.
If you want to change it you can create a suggestion, see what people really think about it. Although we have all grown accustom to it...doesn't really harm anything...

In main you need 1/5th of their covert power to see army size, 1/3rd to see their naquadah out.

In Ascended you need 3x their covert power to see DMU out, 5x their army size. You can still see DMU out if you recon. I don't actually know what the power % is to fail a recon, but it's very low as if I have never failed a recon sending in more than a handful of spies.

It's always been like that, certainly as long as i've played and I imagine since ascended was created. I guess it's how admin designed the games to be different.
