Best Tarantino film in the last 10 years, in my opinion, but I think most of that is due to the casting. This film would have been completely different had there been any different actors cast in the main roles.

Quintessential Tarantino. Absolutely enjoyable.

I was reasonably disappointed by this film in a lot of respects, it was a good film, but far from Tarantino's best, and certainly not worthy of even a nomination for best oscar.
I thought it was somewhat bloated, then I think Django's character was weak for a lead, and underplayed in some respects, Foxx was massively overshadowed by Waltz, who's character went out in a truly horrendous fashion as far as writing goes. I mean a character who throughout the entire film, kept his cool, was one step ahead and always had a 'get out of jail free' card up his sleeve all of a sudden goes and does something COMPLETELY out of character to conveniently be killed and hand Django the light for a finale played out in two 'weak' parts.

DiCaprio was hugely underused too, assuming he was meant to be a villain? Didn't really seem like one to me, just another face amongst 90% of the rest of the racistslaveowningsouthern cast. Sammy l J was a far more outstanding villain in my opinion, though again he was hardly used.

Overall.. meh. Perfect until the 1 hour 50min mark.

I echo Semper's thoughts, especially regarding the nonsensical treatment of Waltz.

I enjoyed it right up until the third act...what is it with movies just going to hell all the time.

I really enjoyed the film although the ending seemed very rushed and the way they killed off waltz was pitiful for the best character throughout the film.

Well, you can hardly blame this movie for political correctness, but I found it to be a disappointment.
I did like the overall 'statement', and the nice display of contemporary art.. but I did expect more.

Some very quotable lines...just not in public ;)

Overall, it was overlong, but that doesn't really bother me. Shultz's death was a bit of an anti-climax, and @Semper Samuel Jackson was supposed to be the villain more than DiCaprio (at least in Django's eyes anyway).

I should hope so! lmao.
