In my opinion, No. I'd rather keep the GNR for other purposes.

Why was this moved from general? This isn't about wether I should buy them or not. Its a generalized thread about peoples opinions. How that relates to being about help idk.

I don't find them worth it. I did the math at one point, they're not that substantial in the grand scheme of things.

I'd much rather use glory and MT's to phase or double strike.

They protect spies when nox is in place. I'd say it's worth having at least some of them...

DG weps can't be repaired without buying a new batch of them I believe? Forget that nonsense for the attack version haha. Although it would be funny as hell to have a mass pile of DG attack weps, 10 amazing attk planets, and a good MS + double-strike. The hilariously unbalanced kill ratios might make it worth it to limit your attack turns so severely.

The defense weps are an all or nothing investment really. Had you been stockpiling for a good long while now + a few godly def planets/quality MS/superior supers+mercs pile you would be one tough mother. As they say though the bigger they are the harder they fall lol.

For the cost they are worthless.

I mostly agree. Aside from those two very unlikely scenarios I mentioned they are just silly to have.

the point of them is, if you have a smaller covert and just get sabbed and AC'd rather than have your defence massed. this forces the enemy to mass you and give you a war setting or they lose AC when the kill your spies

so they are worth it if you play smart

Oh that is smart. During a sab is there a certain weapon priority order to it? Eg: Does a successful sab target the weaker arms pile or is it kind of random?

Only worth it as a panic button to save a big pile of spies.

Yeah I should have specified, I still view the attack G&R weapons as worthless, but the defense ones, if you have a lot of G&R, makes sense to get at least a few as it changes a battle's dynamic.
