why such huge difference in ranking if the stats on example1 are better than those on example2?

I see both Defenses are 0 but have different ranks (7,261 and 58,846) and thats probably the reason.

Before switching accounts everytime my def got 0ed i dropped to rank 800-900 (example2)
and on new acc with better stats i drop to 12k range. So my question is, how is 0 def ranked and how to change it (obviosuly, build def) so i dont drop out of GnR when i get 0ed def.

Dont know if its bug, but its very strange to me.
And if it made no sense than i am sorry...

PS: am i one of the lucky ones because i can drop my rank significantly just by 0ing 1 stat and go raid?
or are those lucky who can have one 0 stat and others also very low and stay in GnR?

PS2: descended/dormant has no effect on it

PS3: does ascended level matter?

Perhaps there is a secondary consideration such as DEFSKILL lvl for when both realms have 0 armed ships? Always wondering about this myself actually.

Rank is decided very simply.

Attack rank (i.e. how high does your attack rank compared to all others) + Def rank + Covert/AC rank + MS rank = x.

If your x is higher than mine, you above me. The lower your 'x', the better you are ranked. Now.. the rank calculation counts the rank-numbers, not the stats.


Ergo, having one in the 20k or even lower (like your 50+k) means your rank will be very low. Ultimately all things go average, and all that.

i know, higher stats-> better ranks
but look, both def stats are 0 yet the difference is 50k ranks.. why on some accs you dont lose much in case of GnR rankings and on others you get pushed back to the 12k ranks? can something be done besides building def?

Not really. You know how when you sort books alphabetically, you might run into multiple books starting with 'a'.. then you use 'other' sorting values. Not entirely sure how that would end up with 50k difference.. but I would say there is a simple matter of some other value being taking into account. Maybe ID; not sure.

It all depends on the outcome of the "Defences, descending" query. SQL does sometimes do surprising things. It is not much to worry about, in my opinion.

I do like your examples though; I suppose they would be a matter of turn change.. (rank updates sometimes take a few minutes after TC). But basically.. the solution is to build 1+ defence. With the number of accounts in play, this does not seem to be a high prio issue. Unless I am mistaken?
(The query works, but results in 70k 0 def accounts, so it orders them some other/random way.)

TC makes no difference

example1 has 35,5k lower ID than example2

must be some weird sorting issue.

maybe it could be done this way:
sort by activity, the longer you dont login (inactive) the worse def rank (if you have 0 def) you get. ofc there will be some active 0defs, simply sort those by ID, or however it is done now, because at that point it wont make too much difference (there is a lot of inactives with 0 def afaik)
