I noticed this in the "How long will SGW last?" thread. Many people say this game has gone majorly downhill. I don't see it. It's easier to catch up then ever. Scripters are gone, NAQ is aplenty. I was able to get my account to where it is now from a 34/30 with a 3t MS in a bit over a month's worth of farming. The game is a lot more newbie friendly.

Sure, you can whine about cash spenders, but tons of good farmers can get to the point where the difference is minimal when it comes to actual warring. Also, it's not like the latest updates have broken the game. Why is it that everyone sees nothing but bad things in this game's future? Was it like this in '08? Basically... Why are you all complaining?

What's your account like now?

I agree, a good farm list can make all the difference. It's getting that list that's a **Filtered** pain. haha

37/35 and... erm... well... 3.7t MS. I have a couple hundred tril I was going to blow on it, but I need some juicy UU's, and I can't decide what to do.

What i'm at with just over 4T MS. Not too bad!

I completely agree though, people seem to point out the negatives rather than the possitives.

Thats because you haven't been apart of the game when it was actually exciting to play.

Exactly.

*sighs* I miss the good old days.... Sure, it was harder to build, and those who bought resources were untouchable... but seriously? the diplomacy, the secrets, the betrayals... it was so worth playing. So so so worth playing. And when people went to war, there were actually stats, and people rebuilt, and it was actually worth sitting on a person....

easier to farm = less people playing, wouldn't exactly think of that as a positive

The game's future has nothing/little to do with the current mechanics. Its the player base.
*waits for a certain someone to come spout things that no one is only a few are dumb enough to believe are true about said player base*

The old craptastic mechanics killed the player base, all the improvements in the world are not going to fix that. Lets also not forget the simple fact that the type of game this is has a very very narrow target market.

They should rly delete all those accounts under 500 000 army size who hasnt logged in within 1 month xD

Why can't you all make up your minds? Is it the lack of the fun politics killing the game, the money spenders, or the big alliances? The things half of you claim are killing it are the opposites of the things the other half say is killing it. The fun politics and betrayals wouldn't have happened without those big, money spending accounts and big alliances, but those create the huge power gap that makes it painful for those players that fell behind. Without that power gap, though, there are no fun politics.

It occured to me, WHY are there no fun politics? That's all of your faults, not the game's.

All of the above. The only reason I stay Semi Active these days is because of my loyalty to HVE. Without the awesome people there, I wouldn't play the game.

If you look around at other games, they are in decline also.

To many games to play, not enough time to play them all.

That's mostly 'cause scripters are gone. The player base has been stagnant for years and farming used to be a lot harder this time last year.

I've maintained around rank 200/300 for a few months now with barely any effort. It's not hard...

To hell with scripters.

This game is not as exciting and challenging like it was. Thing is, it shouldn't be easy. Games should be challenging, which makes them exciting = fun to play. Nobody even cares if they forget to log-in.

Years ago, it was exciting to log in. Cause if you were massed, even $ spenders, would go crazy if they lost everything. It was expensive and interesting. I remember needing to wake up in a hurry. It kept me constantly interested in this game. Now I just sit here, play ascended and newgrounds, waiting and hoping something happens in this game so it will get fun again.

Now nobody cares... defenses and stats don't matter. Not even to broke players.
