Unified Alliance Prefixes

So I've noticed in SGW there is no alliance that has a unified prefix for all alliance members. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it is a prefix, often the abbreviation of the alliance/clan/guild, in front of all the members' names.
Take HVE for example, myself would be HVE Diregie, or HSV Diregie (Hidden Snow Village).
Bralor would be HVE Bralor/HSV Bralor.
I know name changes cost market turns and all, but there are plenty of other games where people do this, and often times it requires cash to change names.
In league of legends, i am a member of a clan with 100+ people and all of us have changed our names to have the prefix required in our names ( name changes are $10).
Of course, it may not be worth the time, effort and market turns but i just thought it would be a cool thing to see.

Thing is, anyone can do it... if they wanted to. Anyone can call themselves whatever they want.. for instance, I could call myself "HVE Master Overlord Winner". What would you do to guarantee exclusivity?

You wouldn't need to, since people can clearly see you're in the alliance

Then what use is the prefix?

Yeah prefixes were more important back in 2005 before an ingame alliance structure was brought into the game. It was more used in Quantum because you got free name changes each wave in the beginning.
Ah memories.

Yeah when you can clearly see the alliance tag anyway it's kinda a pointless practice now.

could be used on Ascended though.. or maybe to show like in HVE that your alliance is part of an empire/family/nation..
i don't really see a need though

That is what the 'Personal Tag' is for on Ascended.

IMO I dont think ascended should be identifiable. Using the episode of SG1 as a reference where Daniel Jackson was amongst the ascended, he didnt know Anubis was Anubis until Anubis revealed it.

Hence the 'personal' bit in 'Personal Tag'. The Ancients identified themselves among the Ascended, ergo lore-wise, it is an individual choice.. which is exactly how it is on Ascended now.

might as well say that about the personal red tag on main too.. i just suggested a possible use for it.. especially with Noobs (though quess not many of those these days) not knowing what alliances are in which Empires even when DDE ones had the Dominium in their names some didn't connect the dots..
I don't get the need to hide on ascended anymore, most of the big war alliances have data sheets that link main and ascended ids regardless of the name changes.. (then again never actually watched any SG episodes either

)

And yet DDE demands that you know they are DDE on ascended so they can oh so politely remind you they are DDE and farming DDE is unacceptable.

I'm just quoting this cause it clearly states DDE did something politely.
