Hay guys I would like to know how to set up a lan connection between 2 laptops running windows 7, I have a router to use but I don't know how to get the two laptops connected to play multiplayer games offline.

inshort 2 laptops connected to play (ie counterstrike) offline (no internet). I have lan cables and a router but need step by step guide if possible

I don't want to use internet, and I don't have a cross cable so the only way is to use a router

and a lot of cards can change straight/cross over logicly, and don't require cross over anymore. Not all companies do this so you would just have to test it.
