Best alliance for a newbie

I guess there will come a time when joining an alliance will make the game more fun,
what are the views on the best alliances for newbies or is that too simple a questions, does it depend on what type of player you want to be (raiding, farming, war ) ?

I have read about them in the SGW Archives..... I guess the have a forum, dont think I have looked at that one, could anyone pass on the link to it please ?

It truly is - and I believe we are the only alliance that has a program like that. It's great for our trainee's and keeps records of what goals you have achieved in the Dominium.

it really depends on what you want from the game.
if you are looking to be fairly peaceful then TAAE and Hidden Village Empire are safe bets, whereas if you are looking for somewhere that is more likely to get into wars then Dominium of Chaos or Titans are better bets
