Never read the books but watched the movie. I thought it was quite entertaining. Two thumbs up from me.

Hadn't read the book, thus the fact I didn't expect the end of this movie...

The movie was okay. I figured out what was going on right away, making it meh.

Books were significantly better.
but that's generally the case. >.> unfortunately.

I enjoyed the movie. However, I feel like those that haven't read the book may be missing some things that add a bit to the plot. I watched it with a friend, and he seemed to get it all just fine (He didn't read the book), although I had to add a bit of commentary to fill in some blanks.

Just watched it on dvd - definitely, meh. The kids' training was like a younger version of Starship Troopers without any of the irony. And the militaristic ethos they were trying to enthuse the kids was hinky

Younger version of Starship Troopers with less nudity, blood and gore.
