So been re-watching SG-1/Atlantis and one thing I can't figure out is how they explained deaths of SGC personal t their families / friends / loved ones.. I mean between the staff weapons of the Goa'uld, to desiccation by the Wraith do the military explain the deaths?

Personally I think the following is plausible:
  • Do the military pick loners?
Do they say radiation experiment gone wrong?
Or most likely do not return the bodies and say they died and it's classified
What do you guys think?

Also, hey, and hope everyone is keeping well! :)

Actually When you watch Atlantis with regards Lt Forbes or whatever his name is when he leaves atlantis hunting wraith enzyme Elizabeth sent a letter to his family saying what he did was very brave but forbes is M.i.A

MIA during a classified operation, I guess that would cover anything you wouldn't want them to know. Could do KIA if you are feeling humane and don't want to give them false hope.. :) Probably make up some story about bravery and patriotism along the way to soothe them (as if).

Although after the Stargate became public knowledge, I would imagine they are hailed as heroes. I know I would greatly respect (and doubt the sanity of) someone who would willingly step through the event horizon of a wormhole .. I mean, what? :P

Production company for SG1 is "Double Secrets", that got me thinking it's all real anyway. Plausible deniability. :-D

They say sorry but your son/daughter (delete as applicable) was unfortunately involved in an incident with a pack of wild cave bears and was unfortunately eaten alive.

We will endeavour to process the animals faeces for any sign of your loved ones remains however do not hold out any hope so i would go with some bricks in the casket...

Or

put bricks in an empty coffin and nail the coffin together then bury it ;)

They can also just use the classified excuse.
