Ie just reascended but there seems to be no difference in my main account apart from it being reset and no real differmece to my ascended account

You have received an amount of Ascension Power Points (APP) in your Ascended account. This will slowly convert into Life Force Cache, which you can use to upgrade your power levels on Ascended.

Your Main account has (depending on your Ascended level) several percent more chance of Ascended Blessing (double attack / defence), as well as an increase to your stat bonus.
(Of course, you realise that the non-Ascended bonuses in one specific area -att/def/cov/UP/inc- are bigger than the overall bonus to all areas at the first few Ascended levels. Ignore <this. Ascending = good.)
