I might join this tournament as my first tournament ever...but where can I find any info about what a tournament is and what I am supposed to do?

There is a description about what to do when entering in the "DATAPAD" also go on the chatbox you will find help in there.

I need more definitive answer please. I shouldn't be punished for being in a tournament and i shouldn't have to leave a tournament to get my APP and get a smaller prize.

I think the correct answer is...we're not quite sure. It's not something that has come up much and with tournaments being a bit buggy from time to time, I don't think even SoL can say for certain that nothing bad will happen.
I'd personally recommend waiting.
Wait a minute, we're fighting eachother. Go ascend right now...I'm sure nothing bad will happen
