Stargate had a pretty big following overseas...I think I remember hearing someplace back in the day that while 2 million people watched new sg-1 episodes as they aired in the US, the total viewership around the globe for new episodes was closer to 10 million. Besides, these kinds of games were a lot more popular nine years ago when lots of people still had far weaker internet connections.

here (Australia) stargate had a quite a fair fan base i think... well, enough to be played on prime time TV for 10 years twice a week between the 3 series' anyway...

I started looking a stargate fps that was apparently in the works, my hunt ended here -.-

As fair as i'm aware stargate was pretty big in the UK.

SkyOne, biggest cable channel and made it a pretty big deal.

UK, AUS, BELGIUM and US had huge fan based I believe, I went to meet up with RDA 3 years ago now and there was maybe 800 people there, after all those years that's die hard fans and tickets where not cheap. Uk seems to me to be one of the biggest places though, then AUS after that.

Decent enough follower in Ireland too, started browsing for SG games, found this, addiction began October 2005

Stargate was pretty big in the UK and it has still has endless re-runs on TV

Probably has something to do with where Jason first advertised this place back in 05 - I know a lot of people joined because of gateworld ads.

You would often, in the beginning, see one person bring in lots of friends from his school or college or work or whatever. I remember Skyflame had dozens of classmates start playing in 05...I imagine similar things happened for lots of different regions. Only needed a couple people from one country to tell all of their friends about it and lots would join up.

I also found this game through gateworld. There was a forum thread between gatedialer and someone else over what was the best alliance in the game. My curiosity was piqued and had to sign up.

seems to be alot of people play this from NL too... weather dutch people like stargate or just games im not sure though
