QUANTUM ERA 39 Era of Ascension

Ascending brings enlightenment, and greater abilities to grow.
Use it to annihilate your enemies... or just sit in the Eternal Cafe and sip your tea.
Your level of enlightenment paves the path to better Weapons, Tech, and more.

NOTE: Ascending does KILL all units. But you keep everything else.
Ascending also provides a 10% per level bonus to all stats
THE QUANTUMVERSE IS IN THE MIDST OF A QUANTUM SHIFT!
A new Era will begin: 15:46 game time. (Pacific Standard Time)
You can not log in until then.

Erm.. We've had like 2 of those already, one being era 37?
Great work, must have taken a lot of time to set it up

Yes, but given the short amount of time I was given to think of a new era, I decided to go with an old one, which gives me another 3 months to prepare something good.

And seriously? I changed it not even 5 minutes ago... are you stalking me? :P

I woke up, went on comp and saw it. I am not stalking you, I don't have time for that.

I am sure no one would mind waiting a week longer before a new era started, instead of playing the same era that was already played twice with the last time being played up to 3 months ago. Especially when the era was filled with bugs, bug abusers, very unbalanced ingame features (which Juliette was warned about right at the start but didn't want to listen), etc.

stalk stalk staaaalk!

I haven't actually played an ascension era - but I was hoping to have avoided them entirely. I dotn like the idea of killing off all my hard-working units.. poor guys :smt117

Any other changes you would like to make us aware of? *hopes for UP link to have gone*

Noooo my bank is so small >.<

Also this era I'll assume UP is gonna be worth a lot more than usual because ascension. Or am I completely wrong? I tried newgrounds for awhile and ascending there killed my UP to* base level.

I suppose there's some kind of ideal curve for when to ascend too. Do you rush to like level 10 ascension with a moderate UP? Or do you max UP and just accept that the turns of UU that you get at the time you ascend will all die horrible horrible deaths?

I'm sure people have tried to figure all of this out before but I haven't yet.

Should be fun.

What are the dynamics of an acension era? Just power through them as fast as possible?

would be interesting to hear from previous winners of the ascension eras... ^^

Akhal won 2 of the 3
Casper won the most recent

Akhal hasn't played Q for nearly 2 years.. so I guess Casper is the resident expert on ascension ^^

We have had a lot of ascension eras! If we are going to repeat one we should repeat the stones era...

The one where there were 4 superpowered stones floating around that you could get by successfully attacking an account. There was an att, def, cov/AC and income stone - each boosted your particular stat by around 5-10x.

The only flaw in that era was when someone got all the stones and went on PPT for 8 days.

I say stones era but if you have a stone you can't PPT. Now that would be epic.

Think of the awesome strategy needed just to keep a stone for a mere day...

After some discussion, I found that previously, people have complained about the PPT causing a farmfest. I decided to not give PPT this time, to gauge the reaction.

I actually believe its a good change, it stops people having a slight advantage because of their timezone. (some may have been sleeping when PPT finishes)

I actually believe its a good change, it stops people having a slight advantage because of their time-zone. (some may have been sleeping when PPT finishes)

I think its a good change, but it actually makes time-zone more important.. not less..

PPT end times used to be staggered over a 24 hour period (as I remember them anyway)
thereby preventing any particular timezone from benefiting. Whereas now, anyone online when the era goes live benefits (although, due to the considerably small amount of naq on each account, the benefit is minor.)

I like it this way as it means you don't have to have that extra skill of finding the farms who have just come off PPT, as that was always a time intensive task ^^ and I'm getting lazy in my old age

I didn't think they were staggered, I thought everyone came off at the same time last two eras, though I could be wrong.

I can sort of see that you think its more timezone bias now, but I'm sure we both know that people farming at this point aren't really gaining an advantage. apart from some GnR.
