I think this is an amazing idea.

Have an open section on the market where you can put goods up for offer.

EG, i go to the INGAME open market and want a quick trade:

You are selling : Turns / naq / UU - - Quantity : 1,000
Asking Price : 1,000,000,000,000 naq

Then every player can see that offer, but anonymously, and if they want to they can accept.

Market can be structured so you choose which goods you wish to buy and it only displays those, based on best price or highest quantity (sortable?).

It would speed up trading and thus increase activity ingame. Might decrease forum traffic here though, but other types of trades will always takes place that need the forum market and private broker.

I think there is a thread or suggestion like this around here, I forwarded it :P. Have a p2p trading scheme, not just on a personal basis.

EDIT, one of the past ones.

From my experience these type of markets tend to crash pretty quickly or inflate pretty quickly. everyone wants to get their resources traded so they price more and more competitively.

...so? That already happens on the forum. It's not like it doesn't occur already.

ATs will skyrocket :-D

but yes, good idea. Plenty of MMPORGs do this sort of trading.

Indeed, especially considering half the game don't use the forums for one reason or another. And the server chat kind of died a death of late.

Alright, can a couple of volunteers help out with testing this market system on the Development server? It is available to everyone there.

Personal tests say it works the way it should, but extra eyes never hurt.

Market is accessible from the regular Marketplace, top link is the white rabbit.

Looking good.

Could you try a 'partial buy' (buy less than what is on sale) and place a couple of sell orders? :)

You have traded 50,000,000,000,000 Naquadah on market in exchange for 10,000 Turns.

You have placed your 10,000 Turns on market in exchange for 250,000,000,000,000 Naquadah. It will arrive on market within 6 hours, and stay for 24 hours from then, or until sold.

Works for me as well, are you going to add a trade history, like you get for normal brokers?

A few things:

- 'of thier' spelt wrong
- 20,419,800 1,000 Naquadah 1 Untrained for 0.000049 Naquadah (or 1 Naquadah for 20,420 Untrained) ) ....... extra right parenthesis.
- I've just submitted 6 concurrent trades, thought it was capped at 5, can't do a 7th though.
- Naq based trades seem to allow a 3-4 hour less 'arrival time of goods', even so the times look...sporadic, seemingly based on the actual resources submitted for trade. I don't see the point?
- 1 Naquadah for 0.000000 Untrained (or 1 Untrained for 50,000,000 Naquadah) )....looks a bit odd....
- would suggest to make the default buy amount the actual buy-able amount for naq for the current user OR allow naq to be brokered from the bank, so you don't have to withdraw a large chunk to sell or buy. It might be good enough just make the default buy amount for all resources what the actual user can currently buy at max.
-"You have: 0 Naquadah and are trying to give: 2.4975E+14 Naquadah.", on failure of buying, perhaps number format that bad boy.
- what happens when 300 people make 3 brokers each in the first day? Does this get turned into a huge ass page? Or paged? or only the first 40 shown or what?
- What happens with UU once a seller receives it from selling something like turns. Naq is banked, turns mean nothing, but UU... If it's delivered immediately, will it not be raidable?
- Does the seller get a message every time someone purchases a multiple of their product? Will that be abusable - to spam someone.
- It would be good enough to assume your trades < public trades, so would it better to have them on top, first, before listing the rest of the trades?

My 6 trades - all set in a space of about ~6 minutes, not in chronological order of when they were created of course.
