If it is, will a legend return?

Ha that's class!!.. I tell you, Jason may not know this, but I reckon this game has helped loads of people get through some tough times, myself included. I think back over the last 10 years at just how much my life has changed. I went from being this scrawny kid with nothing in my name except for a bit of debt, who was constantly sick, and depressed because of the latter, to where I am today! I'm fitter than I've ever been, still have about 90% of my own hair, no real worries or dramas in my life. A good well paid job, a great girlfriend, and we're planning on moving to Vancouver in 17 months.
I originally joined the game in October 2005, so I missed the start, but I was very much around for the beginning! I've made some good friends from this, some of which I still talk with on a regular basis after 10 years. Taxo, Dundee and a few more notable ones.
So since the game is nearing it's
10 year mark I think it's only fair that we acknowledge that fact, and thank Jason (and the team) for their dedication in keeping it going!
It's the people and the players behind the game that make it great, and although I haven't played in wow, well over 5 years now, it's great to see it all still here.
Peace out!
J.S.

Hey JS! Long time no speak! Good to see another old face around.
I started playing in April 2005. I'll probably never be able to completely decide if signing up for this game was a good idea or not, but I will always be grateful for the friends I've made through this. TAF has been a second family to me and its members will continue to be long after this game finally dies. When I moved to Pittsburgh for grad school, a city where I didn't know anyone, the community here was really important in maintaining my sanity and just being full of great friends to waste away every night chatting with.
Besides, I dare anyone to find a game with better roleplaying and politics.

Cute. I'm serious though. We now have a decade of alliances, pacts, secret treaties and agendas, back channel diplomacy, spying, sabotage, grand galactic warfare and tiny personal vendettas. The maneuvering that has happened behind the scenes over the years has been fascinating.

EvE, rich history of alliances, pacts, secret treaties, agendas, back channel trickery, spying, sabotage, etc etc. almost a year ago a particularly nice battle netted ~$300k worth of real money losses (in resources / ships / stations etcetc). Ofc, its not a browser game, but a game all the same.
SGW does seem to have done well in the grand scheme of things, survived long past its original namesake.

I feel old now. Not as old as some of you, I would guess that I started around the time that 15mil army size was big. Of course I was too small to see the big army size at that time so I cant be sure. I drifted for a long time, didn't find the forum until years later and I no longer have my original account. Best I can remember is that I started in the summer/fall time frame... whether that was of the first or second year I will leave to those who were around longer than me who also have better, stronger memories of that time.
Edit: I took a quick look in the archives. There are posts from early 2008 that I remember from my time as HC of my first alliance, so I am going to guess that i started in fall 2005.

Hey Psi, how are you doing?
Mathlord - Ha, yeah we wasted so much time on this thing didn't we!!
-Bralor- - In terms of this game, you sir are a n00b of the highest order - 15 million ha I remember when 100,000 was a huge deal! And that makes me a n00b too of some of the people around here!
Just hit my Recruitment link from 2006 and this was the result J.S. is building an army of Tauri and now has
15,203,776 in their war machine.
