You may have noticed that over the past few months, your game admins + mods have been rather quiet. All I can say is, learning to code has been a **Filtered** **Filtered**

Never the less, we're finally ready to tell you what we've been working on : Project Phoenix

A little bit of background on the project : Everyone misses the 'heydays' of SGW, back when wars could be won or lost.. back before planets, back before MS.. SGW:Origins was supposed to be the answer to that, but for one reason or another, it never really got off the ground.

You may have heard about Sol's ascended app that's been in development for a while. What you didn't know, was that we developed one alongside that for 'main', and trialled it out on facebook under another name about 3 months ago. As it was a test, we kept the signups to a test server, similar to 'beta'. The response has been, to put it mildly, staggering. We've been inundated trying to keep up with the signups and game activity. The community there isn't 'sgw', it doesn't have our 'history', but it is fresh faced, full of activity and bright eyed enthusiasm.

As you may imagine, it's becoming a lot of work to run two servers alongside one another. Eventually, we'd like to merge all of the players on 'main' onto our new server. In the meantime, we're going to start a process of integration, adapting the rules on your 'main' server to better suit your new home. We hope by doing this process gradually, everyone will get a chance to adjust their accounts as needed, and make your gameplay as uninterrupted as possible. You will need to learn Japanese though, as that is the main lingo of our new situation.

We anticipate to start the integration on April 10th, starting with the complete removal of Motherships. You'll find complete patch notes posted 48 hours before each patch, so expect to find these up on April 8th.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you're excited about this new lease of life for a game we all love as we are.

Your friendly GM team

tl;dr SGW as you know it is moving to a new home, with new rules, new factions and new ideals. Prepare yourself for a new era of fun, community and life. And learn Japanese.

So we will still log on and play the same way through the SGW URL layout will remain similar a long with game play.

what about rankings?
Covert and Anti Covert levels?
Population?
Alliances?
Ascensions?

is it as basic a change as no more motherships & people who currently play on facebook will be joining us?

Im all for more activity, I remember this game back in the early days it was CRAZY :)

It'd be hard not to catch word of something in testing that was right under everyone's nose with a large new community developing.

You had me though! :D
