I am wondering, do you guys in 2015 still talk about "vultures" during alliance/server wars, when you have outsiders farming or raiding people involved in said conflict(s)?

For anyone who is newer here/doesn't understand the terminology:
Historically in gatewars vultures were a very real problem facing many alliances in war. The problem is simple, when not in a war big players are able to build and maintain both large incomes and large defenses. They very rarely get farmed because the defenses are built to hold the incomes they keep. Wars mean those defenses get massed. Either then the player has no defense, or rebuilds a much smaller defense.
Newer, smaller or braver players took advantage of this by attacking the big players during wartime, stealing naq and other goods. Thus big alliances found many accounts, unaffiliated with their enemies attacking them during wars. They were marked as vultures and a tradition was formed where to mark the end of a war, both sides teamed up and massed all of the vultures.
In the game now things are slightly different. Defenses overall are lower and wars last for years at a time. However the principle does remain and no-one likes being attacked by accounts they could normally easily defend themsevles from. I can't remember the last time a vulture list was shared and alliances joined together in massing those. In TF, we deal with anyone who comes across our logs in a case-by-case basis, wartime or not.

I have never liked the idea that vultures were always scorned with such hatred. I could never understand how losing your naq to a small unrelated third party was worse than losing your naq to your enemy.
Now if someone was massing a defense to get at naq that was out, that is an entirely different story and should always be met with retaliation.

its worse cause some random noob steals your naq which u could have kept as maybe your enemies are dead noobs and cant even farm u overnight and u might wake up with hundreds of bilions naq or even trilions with no def, so why give that to some vulture? Also I would agree with your statement that there are no new players here, cause even if account seems new it already knows everything about how to snipe how to farm and how to not have any def whatsoever

its less vulture now... more so just if your in logs get massed,
although if its against a missed PPT or an unarguably fair amount- most people seem to overlook it... better off to a random than an enemie right?

Vulture is such a silly term, if you don't have the defense to protect your resources, someone will take them.
Like wise every attack you make you should expect retaliation.

there are many new players mate
ive recruited over 30 this past 2 months
odin also brought back some old players and some newish players aswell as i towards helping rebuild TC
which more of is needed ingame
alot of smaller active alliances that can bring up newwer players search for them teach them how to play
it only takes some time. even ifyour not the best yourself teaching them the bsics makes a hell of alot easier of an experience for a new player comingup against 23 x ascended accounts with 20t ms's everywhere bit harsh on them.
also to learn the values of covert defence and builds depending on what they wish to do.
how to farm and raid at base values how to use turns in asmart manner ect ect
alot can be taught in a short time
its worth it when you start to see them grow
may be giving a TUK away to one of them soon. dependant on how i see his activity growing and seeing that he wants to get to the top
it's a long road and its a ridiculous ammount for a new player to have to do and newgrouns isnt much better really. it takes time to learn it too and you could ascend by the time you get an account out of it. so meh really when you could be getting ingame experience i really think they need to tighten up the ascention gap like removing the lg+'s andmaybe a few others messiah maybe un named kotag qo tag.no need for them all. in this day and age when the games dying and any new player without aid will think how can i ever do that if its took me ?3? months to do 1ascention.ita d reary task and makes many players leaveafter the first2ascentions
losing everything over and over again.

however its true vultures should be massed.but given warning because not all players are on forums infact i think youll find that 95% of sgw players arent on the forums. because forums are so very out dated these days. :/
no one wants the hastle of an extra log on page in fact i didnt join the forums for 3 years almost since i played sgw in 2006 i joined forums in july 09 when i learned it was abundant with activity and unlike any other regular boring post once a year forums lol.

there are many new players mate .... *long winded post*
not sure what you are getting at... ? Just saying that I haven't noticed a forum account from someone that is newer than 2010 that wasn't a previously existing player.
What is with the lecture anyway? Who are you lecturing?
