You remade an alliance for a bunch of people who i'm guessing didn't want to/couldn't play competitively (which is pretty much 99% of the available alliances as I am lead to believe and so they were not at least without a broad choice ) and then spent your time either borderline desperately begging not to be embroiled in the usual malaise inducing prolonged fighting and the other half of the time ephemeral noob training or organising play dates? Oh, and you hunted down some cheaters. You spent two years babysitting? (Disclaimer: I'm writing based off almost no knowledge of the games last two years. You could have had many competitive players for all I know)

I re-created an alliance filled with people with varying backgrounds of experience and expectations from the game. We in fact did play competitively and we had people join us because we were training people up for the purpose of actively playing the game not just stat building. There also wasn't much of a choice if you wanted to be a part of an active alliance with a thriving active forum that were in touch as it used to be, You had The Collective or Method Man's alliance basically as everyone else either was floating with no direction or had no decent leadership skills.

And, wait. A diplomatic alliance? You mean an alliance of sissys? Or an alliance of people who like to chat? An alliance of people who are fair and measured in their approach? A group of players who don't have the $$ or massive amounts of time to play competitively so have to talk their way out of every situation? What exactly is a diplomatic alliance? What makes it something special? It's current rarity? Why is that something of note exactly?

When I say The Collective was a diplomatic alliance I mean that it is an active group of players coming together with the same goal in mind and work together to better each other in every way possible whilst not being bullies or forcing themselves into a never ending war. We had people that went out and had vendetta's, we had one of the biggest cash spenders in recent years as a member as well and we had several wars however we made sure that war was the last measure not because we were "sissys" but because war is a a final action as we see it.

And organising wars? WTH? Who organises them? Villains orchastrate them, heroes finish them or fall in them. You may have arranged a training skirmish if that's what you mean? Again, this was once quite a standard, every day practise.

Indeed organising wars, it is rather common these days and has been for some time now. Instead of going out and destroying relations two alliance might come together for some fun and banter without the negativity that has come from so many past wars. We had organised several training wars however we also were a part of several actual wars where it had been declared, or as you would see it old school wars. Some we lost and some we owned and destroyed others in.

Its not just all these actions I have mentioned but much more that the entire alliance of The Collective had done throughout those two years. To some it may appear as usual run of the mill 2007-2008 actions however there was more that went on then that. As time goes on as does the game and its community change, I am in no way saying I am a Robe, REK or ETL. I am merely just saying that we did not sit around on our hands or putter around doing nothing, we gave the game a little more life with active members and building a little on what was already around. Sometimes its those small changes that make a difference.

In odins defence ever since I've been back playing the game since 2014 i think i came back? He's done more to help the game more then most...
Would always help people where he can, welcomed new players with open arms & treated everyone fairly while trying to out the cheaters.
Now i dont know what it takes to get into the HOF nor do i care tbh, but i'd suggest not trying to take away from his contributions to the game at a time to put it simply when hardly anyway takes the time to give a **Filtered** anymore

The game is far from what it used to be & should be treated as such.

In fairness I understand where Semper is coming from, this game has indeed slowed down from the golden age of 2006-2008 that I personally crawled my way up through. I know Semper knows (to many knows? lol) I wasn't trying to get into a verbal back and forth, I was just being me and making sure my point got across in typical Odin fashion lol.

I hear ya, there are a few still in DDE that have been playing for 10 years not in the hall that probably should be.

Nobody wants to be the kind of **Filtered** who demands why he isn't in the Hall of Fame, but the truth is that I've done more than a few of the people who are inexplicably there.

However, I still don't think I deserve to be there because here are numerous people who have achieved a great deal more than me but still aren't there. All the more proof, I suppose, that it's an imperfect metric.

not because you are, but because the impact youve had in the latter years is next to nothing.

fact is HoF nomenees get their name thrown in based on their impact over the last 6-12 months before awards, where once you were a common name your now a ghost.

also - like Semper said, pre2012, it was a serious competition, where most players still here who should be in there that are not were at their most active, and in direct competition with actual other deserving players.
over the years, as their activity level has dropped, so has their social status as legends, gods and/or kings... fading away.

But playing again now, and still trying.. maybe next year

and it is still a shame that none of the TAF/TF lot have made it into the Alliance of the Year. How can ones with so much SGW history be continuously over looked. :s

Odin was the only entrant to achieve the required 10 nominations with 12. PianoMutt received 6 nominations.

but to be more serious first of all its alliance not empire nominations, and second as they cant vote for themselves the rest doesnt vote for them either and cause its popularity context i suppose that means that noone besides u likes them

I'm not sure if we're not flogging a dead horse trying to get Pianomutt in there. He may have been worthy of it a decade ago but it's been a long time since he was a 'big thing' with his legend only propelled on by those who remember him directly rather than anyone new venerating him for what he left behind...
