24 Hour minimum relations?

If all relations are set for 24 hours how can this be explained?

EnterTheLion *hokiehomeboy [] EnterTheLion(8268) has set their relation with you to: War 11:02 reply delete save
EnterTheLion *hokiehomeboy [] EnterTheLion(8268) has set their relation with you to: Neutral 11:02 reply delete save

It seems that 24 hour relations minimum don't apply to certain players.

Less accusation, more understanding of the game mechanics. [-X

Auto Warset after 18 hits.

Yeah those relations were set after 1 hit. Of course after posting about it he massed me.

No wonder no one wants to play this game anymore. Bugs, cheaters, faggots and asshats galore.

Hi Hokie, thanks for posting, though this thread might better fit in the Newbie/FAQ forum. Yours is a simple misunderstanding of how the game works, nothing major.

For game mechanics purposes, Neutral means 'no relation'. (This is to avoid having a supermassive DB-table containing tons and tons of relationships between ALL players, active or not.)

For you as a player, that means the following:
Set someone to Peace, you will have to wait 24 hours before setting Neutral or War. If you try to change relations, you will get an error message along the lines of "Relations changed less than 24 hours ago".
Set someone to War, you will have to wait 24 hours before setting Neutral or Peace.
Set someone to Neutral, and you can change your relation immediately.

So to summarise, when you say "All relations are set for 24h", you are correct. Since 'Neutral' means 'no relation' however, well..
I hope this answers your question. If not, feel free to elaborate on what you think is wrong with it.

Since you cannot set someone to Neutral from Peace or War before the 24 hours have passed, there is no harm done.
Yes, if someone changes to Neutral before changing to War, you may feel betrayed that someone would set you to Neutral, especially if you think they should be friendly and nice to you. In most cases, you will either already have been at War (hence the Neutral setting) or you are in a fight.

A moderator will be in touch about the excess words in your reply.
Feel free to change them before that happens.

If it isn't explained in more detail in the help section of the game, then someone might see it as a bug, maybe simply move the topic to the right forum-section would also make searches to this issue/question/answer in the Newbie/FAQ forum easier. And add the explanation to the help-section of the game as well.

A little off-topic
Being rude to a player that tries to play the game, who has a question, may be part of the reason why he/she wants to quit the game, doesn't do well with me.
The active player list is already thin as it is, no reason to make it even more thin by being rude outside of The Galactic Colosseum. (posts here aren't rude actually, except Hokie himself - edit)

Hokie isn't a newbie by the way, just saying in general ;)

Wolve's 2 cents

Not sure I follow you wolve, I don't see how the post you quoted by Support was rude at all. As I read it, its a thanks for the report, probably better in the newbie/faq section, not a bug but a misunderstanding of how the game works.

Ofc you could be referring to my reply, which I stand by :P Just become somebody observes behaviour they do not understand, does not automatically mean cheating / leet hax / scriptzor overload. Had the original post been purely a question, my reply would have been different.

The post of Support was not rude and that part was not directed at Support, only the first part, sorry if that wasn't clear.
It was more something that was between the lines here and there on the forums and is bugging (lol) me, no biggy, maybe my morning mood ;)

The part for me that is important is, all the explanations here and in the newbie section could be copied into the help section of the game, would make a more up-to-date help section/manual and would save allot of double questions.

That is a fair review. :) Will consider revising the help file. It probably does have some outdated info.
