Destroying Alliances

I was just having a looksie at the list of ''Chronicles of Galactic Alliance Wars'' on my Command Center page and sometimes it says ''Alliance Destroyed'' in red type under the heading of ''Winner''. Which got me wondering; Is it actually possible to go to war with another alliance and if you win, actually break-up their alliance by force, automatically??? How is this possible?

Nah, it means the alliance was willfully disbanded, by the alliance leader.

thats one of the main problems of this game nowadays, cause you cant destroy others and there is no winning option and people can just snipe their whole life

As others have said, those alliances simply does not exist anymore (disbanded).
