2016: ongoing

- Ascension 24-25 added.
- (Black) Market rates revised.
- Glory and Reputation earning revised.
Support wrote:GnR has more uses than just Ascension 'power'. The 'Glory Market' offers a wide range of options for temporary account effects.
The rate at which GnR is earned is based on rank (better rank = more GnR) and (this is new) Ascension level.

Ascension level 0-9 receive 2.5x normal GnR.
Ascension level 10-19 receive 1.5x normal GnR.
Ascension level 20-25 receive 1x normal GnR.

At the same time, the lower limit for earning GnR has been raised from ~1200 to ~320.

Rank 1 earns 15 GnR.
Rank 2~18 earn 5 GnR.
Rank 19~62 earn 2 GnR.
Rank 63~320 earn 1 GnR.

GnR earned per turn is rounded down to the nearest integer.



Argumentation:
- Further increasing tactical depth by introducing more imperfect choices.
- Preserving the notion that GnR is based on achievement (strengthening rates), offering non-/lower-ascended players an incentive to build rank and benefit from the increased GnR (either for use of Market features or for ascensions).
- The GnR requirement for ascensions is not necessarily fixed at 1000.

Based on an idea by GeneralChaos.
- Requesting a refund of a rejected broker now checks whether the refund would break limits on Units or Turns. The rejected trade remains available for refund for 720 minutes after rejection; if the initiator cannot make room for the Units or Turns, the traded goods will be lost.

Glad i ascended when i did...
the change to GnR earnings kinda hurt lol
- The GnR requirement for ascensions is not necessarily fixed at 1000.
I think that is going to hurt more

I think that is going to hurt more
Not really, this is just for the higher lvl off ascensions. It's just cleaning up the g&r and making it more competitive with the current smaller player base.

when 0 def accounts start in the rank 200s... whos going to complain? :D
still can be in GnR range with 0 def, 1m attack weaps, spies and a poor MS....

ouch, bad enough you make it 3 times as hard to get G&R then you throw a massive raise on top.

As Tees mentioned earlier, something needs to be done about ranking when dead accounts can rank higher than actives with a def.

and if APP is changed does that mean the option to convert to turns is removed/altered too?
I actually think gnr should be dynamically linked to ME that it can be won and lost not so much about rank technically you can just do ppt runs and sit and do nothing to get the gnr where as being able to steal someone elses or destroying someone else would be more fun

or linked through achievement's that have to be ticked off to be able to get gnr

Indeed, Teesdale. That would be a bloodbath, and probably not in a good way.
While the idea of having Glory and Reputation work with negatives ('stealing/humiliating') is intriguing, that sort of thing might be more suited for Military Experience. (Losses sustained representing a negative.) Thinking about that, massive downside is that farming yields relatively 'cheap' (no/little damage) ME. Worth brainstorming about, regardless. If anyone wants to chime in, please do.


As middle ground between '100% dynamic' and '100% static', it might make more sense to restrict Glory and Reputation earned while on PPT. Such a mechanism would offer 2 sub-optimal choices:
- sit safely on PPT, earn less GnR (at no risk of attack);
- be off PPT, earn full GnR (at risk of attack).
Could base it on time, the longer you are on PPT (consecutively) the lower your modifier. As soon as you come off PPT, the modifier is raised to 100% within ~2-4 tcs (depending on how low it was). Again, the choices would be "risk and speed" versus "safety and time."

One of the arguments being that while you should benefit from playing actively, taking time off from the game should not result in prohibitive penalties.

easily solved in two different options

mpsd like buttong for gnr on market

or only ascended levels same or below within a ratio can destroy gnr but all can still wipe everything else

gives a different dynamic

if your toying with this - would say the modifier should raise at a half rate while off PPT to what it drops while on PPT...

say youve just spent 2 days on PPT with it slowly dropping, could then spend 2hrs online(or even use alliance PPTs and just break the ppt on turn change then re apply another alliance PPT after turn change) to get back to full multiplyer then restart another PPT...
will stop the 10 days non stop at rank 1 thing if it takes atleast a full 24hrs off PPT to reset the multiplyer to full
