Does ppt stack?

when you ascend while you're already on ppt, does it add to your existing ppt?

No, the PPT from ascending (which is a supporter pack) would overwrite your current PPT, so you would start with a fresh 2880 minutes of PPT.
It is unusual to be able to exceed 2880 minutes of stored PPT time, in fact it will only happen if you are awarded special PPT by Support in the case of unexpected server downtime / instability etc.

it DOES NOT count towards your weekly PPT usage though... so if you time it correctly, you can PPT 6 days that week instead of 4...

No, it does count towards your weekly PPT usage, but you do get the ascension PPT even if you are already at the limit.
Ascension, PPT - counter at 2, limit reached, only ascension PPT allowed.
PPT, Ascension - counter at 2, limit reached, only ascension PPT allowed.
PPT, PPT - counter at 2, limit reached, only ascension PPT allowed.
(Technically you can even ascend more than once a week, up to level 10.)
