This will probably get laughed at,
What what if you could fight MS vs MS. No ground troops just a MS battle.
Still have it when your massing but have the option to just battle the MS
Ok lets see the comments, this should be good

So I could feasibly drop army size down to one million and go and engage mother ships without loss with next to 0 income, No I cannot think why this would be abused

Sorry not following you with the abuse, You cant farm with it, only fight another MS. So you can battle your buddies, or take out an MS before sending grounds trrops in minimizing losses

Not sure what benefit this has, would it still add to ground troops attack?

Of Course.
But for instant. Your MS is way stronger than mine.
So instead of having your MS add to your DEF, I could fight just your MS first.
We we i do go in with ground troops its just your ground troops def and any possible planet

It's an idea but not sure if it's an improvement .. supplementing a bag sugar for the same bag but different brand. Need to expand on it more.

well same **Filtered**, can do that now if u want, just dont train strike before doing that. All in all it saves what some 5m uu per fight? i dont see much benefit. AS people will stop building stats at all cause now they dont build much and with this u wont need it at all.
I would rather see the strike and def somehow related like u can only build twice your def size or similar like that
or maybe like in bloodwar make all the soldiers participating in both attacks and defenses

Currently there is a good balance between aspects of defense. Having a cheap way to mass a mothership first before attacking the defense could really hamper someone's ability to defend against an attacker.
The mothership helps protect the defense. The defense helps protect the mothership in that if someone has a big defense you need to build a decent strike to engage that mothership and accept that there will be losses along the way. It's not perfectly balanced but it's a smart idea. Separating the requirement to not get devastating damage on the defense just means the mothership will always be killed first and will serve no real purpose in protecting a defense while it will still augment the strength of the attack following the mothership killing.

It sounded like a good idea, and I was reluctant to post LOL. But all post make sense, chalk that up to bad idea
