Sab question

Sorry if this is a common question, but I scanned through and didn't see anything, and couldn't find the specific question by search.
Is it considered in bad taste to sab somebody who tries to attack you for Naq? Say- Player about 1k ranks above me sets war and tries to attack for naq (less naq than I even bother attacking for too, lol). Player fails, but kills enough super defenders to irritate me. I sab them, and now then are ranked only about 200 above me, and well within my attacking range. They really aren't worth me hitting though, so I'm just in the wait and see stage now.
Is this retaliatory sab strike considered in bad taste? My thoughts were that they shouldn't have even tried attacking somebody who could sab them...

Yes, and it is a way to easily, and quickly, make alot of enemies

The only time you should condsider sabbing, is if you are getting bullied/and or massed.
Sabing over farming usualy just escalates to ugly feuds.

Thanks for the replies. I figured a few sabs would be better off for them than letting my CO get involved, but I guess I'll just let the repair bill and the dead soldiers speak for themselves next time.

Um... I guess that makes the person I was taking about even more of a noob then, because they wasted time hitting a brick wall that they couldn't even touch. Not to mention their UP is about half of mine... yet they they have a higher ranking.

Untill you make it past 1K in the ranks... and even then... you will find that rank means very little.
Because you can sab them in the first place, when I said War, I was talking about their commander (if any) and their alliance (if any) or future conflicts.
Some people hold grudges for months before striking back.
Just don't make a habit of sabbing ppl.
Though one or two sabs against someone you can completly own probably wont hurt now and then. It's always nice to put ppl in their place

Cool. I won't make a habit of it then. Is there a list of "unwritten player rules" somewhere?
I know I have a few personal rules I follow: Don't attack anybody who's commander could own you, don't attack anybody with higher covert, don't attack obvious newbies, don't attack anybody in a large or extremely powerful alliance, etc. I usually won't even hit anybody that looks active unless they have left what I consider large naq pool out in the open.
I had a noob war/cold war with somebody a while back... was kind of fun actually.

To be honest I was pretty bored with the game until then.

Hmm... I'm afraid we don't have an 'bowing down' emoticon.
have this instead:
Common sense is something most n00b lacks so perhaps we can consider you a newb?

Not against sabbing in retaliation for farming. Though, the SGW community has on several occasions helped an account getting beat up by someone who sabbed it for no reason.

In that case, you may want to start sabbing

You do have to know where to draw the line as well.
I assume that your rules only apply to first strike situations on your part?
Reasoning:
There are a lot of big players that scour the lower sopts for a good hit/farm. Unless you are ranked 1(the King is correct, rank is very misleading; high in one area relative to another/other skews rank standing) you are a potential target for another player. So, I think it's ok to attack once you have been hit, even though they may have a commander that is strong. Rolling over and taking it isn't always the best option. If being in a strong alliance was all it took to attack anyone and not be hit back, how come the SGW population hasn't clued into that, and joined one of the two biggest alliances? There has to be more to playing with good form than that.
Therefore, my advice would be to pick your battles carefully, not to stay your hand
once you've been attacked by someone who has a stronger commander, or is in a strong alliance.
I vote Deity for president, and wish to form a class action lawsuit, "...against Deity Inc based on ill-sentiment felt as a direct result of reading the terms 'n00b' or 'ar$e$' and associating these as offensive..."

I don't Sab much outside War situations but then again I haven't attacked with the intention to farm for NAq in main for about 5 ascensions so I couldn't really help you much.
Deity Inc is currently in the process of acquiring Covert Level 30 with the intention of using it to completely remove Spacey's weapons and to delete his armoury screen entirely. We also have his grandmother in a cold basement and will release her if all complaints are withdrawn... possibly.
P.S. Your Vote is appreciated and as a thankyou we have decided to delay the Sab mission until next Ramadan.

LOL, well since it's been revived... I ended up giving the person 300 mil for new weapons because I felt bad. Ended up with a peace treaty though, so it's all good.

I think an attack if you are attacked would be fine, as I was indicating in my post. After the attack set your realm alert to Critical/High, if they respond with an attempted sab, then sab them, and don't stop until they yell 'wardrobe malfunction!'

In light of recent developments and indication of hostilities towards puppies and kittens, Spacey's class action lawsuit will hereby be withdrawn against Deity Inc. and all of it's affiliates. Spacey would like to add that homeless people everwhere have thus encouraged Deity Inc. to stop thinking of homeless fights as comic relief, but rather as a real fight.
edit: WOO! this is my 400th post!
