ability to stop uninvited officers joining or....

I think we need the ability to stop uninvited officers joining, as they are in effect stealing naq. You can dismiss them, but they keep joining back. I think these changes will make the game more realistic.
If you have decleared war on someone, they CANT join as an officer under you.
and have the ability to set the officer income to a negative amount.
IE, they pay you - like the mafia - for 'protection' so if someone joins uninvited, thats fine, but it will cost em 10% of their income.

My opinion, make an option to prevent anyone from becoming your officer. i.e., no officers for the player.

now here is an idea.... you can declare war on people, and the system keeps track of that, so how about this?
the system keeps track on if you flag someone having the right to join under you (ie so they pm you, and you say yes or no) - and the default is no.
if you say yes, they join no problem.
however - if they do not have the right to join under you (ie you said no when they asked, or they didnt ask) they play the game of russian roulette.
they get a 50/50 chance... they either get through, or -
"As you turned up ininvited during Commander rasterblasters dinner party when he was trying to impress some guests, he has had you captured and executed for their ammusement. All your weapons, troops and money are now his, and you have been vaporised out of existance. Have a nice afterlife"
and the account gets reset.
That adds some more realisim to the game, and some more fun.... wanna be a leach and try and steal some naq by 'dropping by uninvited' go for it!

How about a 'dismiss permanently' option so they cannot rejoin?

I have a simple idea.
We know that if your at war with someone, they cant become your commander.
How about someone can only choose to become your officer if you declare peace with them. There are many good points for doing this. It wouldnt be hard to implement, you cant attack officers or those your at peace with, so theyre similar anyway... and maybe a few others good reasons, dont feel like think of more.
Just think that would be a simple solution...

Seems the logical solution!! After all, you would expect to be at peace with your officers!!

although it could be modified slighty to have an 'Officer application' screen linked to the Command Centre page - on this screen could be:
"The following soldiers have applied to be your officer:"
and then a list of names and an Accept/Reject button next to each one.
Yes? No?

I agree that that would be the ideal solution, but would take a bit more time to program, test and implement than the officer=must be at peace requirement.
I would prefer a reject/accept option, but I would also prefer something like this to come out soon

The simple thing that there needs to be a two way peace agreement before you can join would be the easiest way to implement it true...
but a game of russian roulette and getting vaporised would be more fun! hahaha

Going with what I Replicate and I were discussing earlier - the screen could also contain details of those officers who have recently changed their commander to somebody else.

this is getting silly now.... I get some leach every hourn nearly joining up uninvited... arrg! anoying and unrealistic.... you cant just walk into a police station, army or even a company and collect a pay check without actually going for an interview of some sort!
